Humor

ROTFLMAO

I think one of the best sounds in the world is a wholehearted kid laugh. They don’t care about propriety or how they look. If it is funny they just belly guffaw and I love it. I don’t like all baby laugh videos or most of them even (call me a curmudgeon) but something about this one is just great.

Plus I think it is interesting how early we humans develop a sense of humor. Not only is this kid laughing, he anticipates what will happen next (towards the end of the video) and starts giggling before he even gets to what sets him off. He looks young, less than a year old. So what is it about what he is doing in the video that cracks him up so much? Why that thing? Having watched a few other baby laugh videos it seems random things set off different kids but I still find it fascinating.

I watch my daughter examine humor. There is a lot of grown up stuff she doesn’t get but she will laugh anyway, in a participatory way. And she is at the stage where she is trying variations of knock-knock jokes to see what makes other people laugh. Because she doesn’t understand them yet she has told some incredibly surreal knock-knock jokes as she switches around components to see what is funny and what is not. Sometimes I laugh because they are so absurd and that leads to more surrealism as she tries to recapture what I laughed at.

Anyway, enough of my musings…I use this one to cheer me up whenever I need it. How can you not laugh when watching this great kid?

I always find this very funny. Two worlds clashing. Also, the crocodile totally doesn’t scare me, or the snake but there are a few others that make me shiver.

Eddie Izzard: Star Wars Canteen animated with Legos by Thorn2200

Eddie Izzard done with Legos

WORK WARNING: ADULT LANGUAGE!

This guy takes Eddie Izzard Riffs and animates them using legos. I happen to love Eddie Izzard and Star Wars so this caught my attention. So here you go: Eddie Izzard on star wars animated with Legos by Thorn2200 (who is apparently 15) on YouTube. What a combination!

Had to add another link to his Eddie Izzard: B-Movies and Vampires (just cause I like both).
The more I watch of this kid’s stuff, the more I like it. He has clearly paid very close attention to the words and mapped out all the visually funny stuff. If he is doing this at 15, I wonder what he would be capable of given some money and time. Of course, this wouldn’t be as funny if he didn’t have such great material to animate…

‘We’ve got a blind date with destiny, and it looks like she’s ordered the lobster.’
‘Would you be willing to repeat that sir, with your pants on this time?’

For the rest, you have to go to their site. You can spend hours there. Seriously. They have a huge archive…

I found this because a friend of mine had stumbled the site. This site had me laughing and laughing. And sometimes just scratching my head. I love the fact that you can get these on t-shirts!

What a mom says in 24 hours, condensed into 2 minutes and 55 seconds, very funny.
