Persistance pays off!

Sometimes it feels like it doesn’t pay to get out of bed.

I got a nifty new computer and am very happy with it. Macs rock! (For you PC people out there, they rock too, just for different reasons.) But getting the computer involved a few things. I had to reconfigure my computer hutch (move a shelf up) and was at a loss as to how to do that with limited time and resources. Luckily a very nice new friend helped me. (It was a job that required two people.)

So I got it reconfigured. Cool. Next I had to tackle the incredible rats nest of wires and figure out where things went. Usually I know this stuff but the original computer had been moved when I was in the hospital so I wasn’t able to label all the cords like I usually do. However, got it configured correctly (or so I thought). No dice. Now my tivo and internet connection stopped working. It appeared my router wasn’t working. I called comcast and dealt with a nice guy there and then called Tivo and dealt with very nice gal there. Throughout it I was trying to check things out. Was it the cable? No… it works in this other configuration…. hmmm. What the hell? It was working yesterday…. before I moved stuff. I must be culprit. Pirates say it best I think: AAARRRRGH.

BUT, with persistance I managed to figure it out. So now the tivo can see the router and my nifty new computer works and sees the internet.

And by reinstalling CS2, photoshop and illustrator now work again.

So, persistance is the key. I keep that in my mind when stuff goes south. It is appropriate that my music is playing “That’s life” right now. Michael BublĂ© has golden pipes.
